A Louisville ministry that started with one box of food and never stopped showing up.
Our story
In 2019 a single outdoor box went up on Mary Street. Neighbors could take what they needed and leave what they could spare. No paperwork, no questions, no cost. That was the whole idea, and it is still the whole idea.
Word traveled the way it does in a neighborhood. More people came. More people brought food. What began as a box became a Friday night meal, then a clothing closet, then partnerships with churches across Louisville for community days with food, clothing, haircuts and backpacks for the school year.
We became a registered 501(c)(3) in 2022. Nothing about the posture changed. There is still no requirement you have to meet before we will feed you.
We are not running a program. We are loving one person at a time, in the name of Jesus.

Where your money goes
Your giving goes to Germantown and the West End, where we serve hundreds of tacos and hot plates in the name and love of Jesus, alongside partner churches like Greenstreet Baptist.
Here is what that looks like. On a day the heat index hit 100, a man rode up on a bike, keeping to himself. He did not want to be seen. He just wanted to eat. “You didn’t bring clothes this time,” he said, so we told him where to find the closet on Mary Street. And then he stayed. He ate. He talked. On his way out, he said:
“Thank you for making me feel normal and engaged in community.”
Fed is the start. Safe enough to feel normal is the point. People may come to be served, but they come back to serve. The love of Jesus came to serve them, and they give it back to others.
We are funded entirely by private donors. Here is what that means in practice.
